HO CHI MINH CITY, October 24, 2022, Pfizer Vietnam, Inc. today announce its sponsorship for The Vietnam Young Physicians (VYPA) Association to increase patient awareness about telemedicine in Vietnam through a project called “COMPANION PHARMACY: VISIT PHARMACY, MEET THE DOCTOR”.
The project is mainly led by The VYPA, collaborated with the Vietnamese Society of Otolarynology (VSO) and FPT Long Chau Pharmacy Chai, also requesting for supporting from multinational pharmaceutical companies.
The sole purpose of the project is to shorten the gap in medical care for patients in Vietnam through "telemedicine" digital solution, which has been successfully deployed in many countries. Under this project, patients can have doctor consultation via the “telemedicine” digital platform at no cost.
COVID-19 was devastating in its impact and effect in many areas of healthcare delivery. The adoption of digital health and virtual care is playing a bigger role in how healthcare is delivered going forward. Telemedicine has quickly become an effective and reliable solution chosen by many Vietnamese patients. It provides convenience to patients who need immediate health advice, as it allows the patients to quickly check in with a doctor for guidance virtually. This helps improving the quality of treatment for acute and chronic diseases requiring medicine’s prescription, which is outside the scope of the pharmacist's advice.
Joining in this program, Pfizer not only support VYPA partially funding for the pilot phase but also organize scientific symposiums in conjunction with VYPA and VSO to update the knowledge for the pharmacists and tele-physicians.
“The Vietnam Young Physicians Association is pleased to receive the support of Pfizer Vietnam as co-main sponsor to carry out this meaningful program. We hope the program will be successfully implemented so that it can carter for the urgent need in connecting doctors with patients virtually through digital platforms” Doctor Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association.
“Pfizer, as a patient centric company, is committed to helping people live their healthiest lives, which means getting the care they need, when they need it. Through this partnership, we hope by leveraging digital technologies can enable better patient outcomes and improve patient reach and experience in Vietnam.” said Darrell Oh, Pfizer Vietnam General Director.
